Gerald Durrell's memoir-esque book follows along the lines of My Family and Other Animals. Full of wit, and irreverent humour, he gives the reader a glimpse of his slightly batty family and their wide circle of friends. Their life on the island near Greece is the focus of the book, and rather less attention is paid to his love for animals.
